Completed laying the foundation for the future Ice Palace for figure skating in Sochi

JSC Builders “Association Ingeokom” have completed laying reinforced concrete foundation of the future of the Ice Palace of Sports for figure skating competitions and short-track for 12 thousand spectators, the report said HC “Olimpstroy”.

Now the builders begin a new phase - installation of metal frame of the Ice Palace, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010.

The first cubic meter of concrete in the foundation of the Ice Palace for the sport of figure skating competitions and short-track was flooded on Sept. 19, 2009 in the presence of Vice-Premier of Russia Dmitry Kozak, President of GK “Olimpstroy” Taimuraz Bolloeva, President of the ANO “Organizing Committee Sochi 2014″ Dmitry Chernyshenko, chairman of the IOC Coordination Commission, Jean-Claude Killy and Olympic champions Tatiana Navka, who laid the foundation of the Olympic commemorative object capsule.

In October 2011 the construction of the Olympic sports facility will be completed.

Construction of Olympic facilities and infrastructure in Sochi for the Olympics in 2014 will cost at 195.3 billion rubles, whereas previously the cost of the Olympics was estimated at 206 billion rubles.

The development of Sochi as a tourist center of all the money earmarked for urban development and construction of Olympic venues, will be spent 80%, and only the remaining 20% - on the Games themselves. Results for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi will 235 objects.
